Nursing democracy: Referendum more important than the election

I've talked to several people who feel that the election is basically over. I've also found a lot of agreement that the referendum is ultimately more important than the election outcome.

If we stop to consider the big picture, most of us would realise that it is of paramount importance that Ontario speak clearly in this referendum. It's not everyday that we have a chance to elect how our MPPs will be chosen in subsequent elections from now on. We also have a golden opportunity to make history in Canada and North America by being the only jurisdiction whose politicians are elected on a proportional basis.

Let's elect our local MPP as well as have a vote on which party we want to lead the province.
Let's have almost 100% of our votes count instead of about 40%.
Let's join other Western democracies in switching to a fairer more representative system.
